PrintRite3D is an integrated interactive solution designed to enable comprehensive management of additive manufacturing processes. It is made up of SensorPak multi-sensors and hardware and Inspect, Contour and Analytics software modules, of which the SensorPak and Inspection components have seen a series of new and improved features implemented.
These updates have been made to aid manufacturers in the additive production of metal parts, and will be highlighted when Sigma Labs exhibits at the trade fair next month.
On the hardware side, sensors have been removed from the build chamber, meaning all sensors are now coaxial to the laser optics, which addresses concerns around gas flow disruptions and space limitations in the build area. New client-server architecture means multiple machines can be connected to the system, and upgraded data acquisition and processing hardware allows data to be processes faster, with results being displayed in real-time during the build.
Meanwhile, the Inspect module now boasts melt pool spectral data evaluation capability thanks to a physics-based methodology for characterising and analysing spectral data and optimising optics hardware and sensors. This enables spectral regions of interest to be monitored and thermal signatures of interest validated. Inspect can now also measure and report melt pool relative temperatures, as well as Thermal Energy Planck in-process quality metric, which is used for thermal signature identification.
